We added an Adaptec 1420SA and 2 SATA Hard drives. Then when we installed the Dell Open Manager we started seeing this message:<\/p>\n<p> \tDevice:SERVERNAME 1.1.1.1, Service Tag:xxxxxx, Asset Tag:, Date:01\/05\/10, Time:09:36:07:000, Severity:Warning, Message:Alert message ID: 2166, Controller warning. The RAID controller firmware and driver validation was not performed. The configuration file is out of date or corrupted. C:\\Program Files\\Dell\\SysMgt\\sm\/cfg\/, system, Controller 0 (PERC 2 Family)<\/p>\n<p> \tWhat we tried:<br \/> \t1) renamed the file C:\\Program Files\\Dell\\SysMgt\\sm\\cfg\\adapver.cfg &#8211; just changed the message above to &quot;The RAID controller firmware and driver validation was not performed. The configuration file cannot be opened. C:\\Program Files\\Dell\\SysMgt\\sm\/cfg\/adapver.cfg&quot;<br \/> \t2) edited the file &#8211; couldn&#39;t make sense of it &#8211; so we tried changing lots of values with no change in the message.<br \/> \t3) uninstalled &#39;Dell OpenManage Server Administrator&#39;<br \/> \t4) re-installed &#39;Dell OpenManage Server Administrator&#39; version 6.2 from dell&#39;s website<\/p>\n<p> \tWhat worked:<br \/> \t1) edit this file C:\\Program Files\\Dell\\SysMgt\\sm\\stsvc.ini<br \/> \t2) find this section:<br \/> \t; Enable\/disable the firmware and driver version check at startup of the Systems Management Data Manager.<br \/> \tDepCheck=Off<br \/> \tNRSDepCheck=On<br \/> \t3) <b>Change DepCheck from On to Off as you see above.<\/b><br \/> \t4) To confirm &#8211; restart the &#39;DSM SA Data Manager&#39; service.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dell PowerEdge Server RAID Controller firmware corrupted &nbsp; &nbsp; Issue: Our customer has a Dell PowerEdge 830 with no RAID controller.
