Hallo,

\Dokumente und Einstellungen\All
Users\Anwendungsdaten\Acronis\TrueImage\Scripts
gespeichert und haben die Dateiendung .tis

User name or password for remote resource is incorrect or selected device is inaccess

I am running Acronis True Image Server 8.0 for Windows on a Windows 2003 Server. I am trying to schedule a backup to a shared drive on another computer through Windows file sharing. I have mapped a drive letter to the shared resource and I am able to access it by going to ‘My Computer’ and clicking on the drive letter. When I run True Image Server I can create a backup if I run it manually, although if I schedule the backup I receive an error when it runs and the log file states
“User name or password for remote resource X:\Dexter\dexterinc.tib is incorrect or selected device is inaccessible. Please re-type your user name and password, and check up, whether the selected device is connected.”
Any ideas on why this is occurring or how to fix it?

Hello USU,
Thank you for using Acronis True Image (http://www.acronis.com/products/trueimage/).
Please accept our apologies for your inconvenience.
Please try to use the full UNC name of the shared drive, e.g. \\server\share.
Thank you.

Well… the mapped drive should work too.
We have received messages from our customers describing this problem. However, we cannot reproduce it in our Testing Lab.
Thank you.

I am trying to backup to a red unit folder choosed among the disponible backup archive locations folders and when I proceed I get the message "user name or password for the remote resource \\U:\….tib is incorrect".
Note that at the same moment I can open the same folder without any security restriction.
Note also that I am doing the same process on another computer to the same red unit backup archive folder without any problem.
Is there a windows XP service required for red backup archive locations with security?
Is True Image requires the security user/password information to backup to a red unit and where to introduce these parameters in the backup initialization process?

Hello Jean-Claude,
Thank you for posting your question, I will be happy to help.
To resolve the issue please re-start Acronis scheduler, it appears that the scheduler service has been installed improperly.
– Download a special Acronis utility;
– Start the Command Prompt from Start -> Programs -> Accessories menu;
– Run the following commands in the folder you saved the file to:
schedmgr task zap
schedmgr service stop
schedmgr service uninstall
schedmgr service install
schedmgr service start
This should delete all Acronis tasks on the PC. You should manage your tasks from the scratch. Execute a backup operation and see if the issue remains.
Please let us know the results, we should be sure that the program runs flawlessly. If the provided information is not clear or if you have any other question do not hesitate to post them and we will be glad to answer.
Thank you.
